Overcoming regulatory and structural challenges in climate adaptation finance
This online event, “Overcoming Regulatory and Structural Challenges in Climate Adaptation Finance“, set for November 20th, was designed to help financial institutions navigate climate adaptation regulations. In a three-hour format, participants experienced expert talks, panel discussions, and breakout sessions focusing on finance and climate policy.
The event opened with an overview of the CLIMATEFIT project, followed by a keynote on the importance of regulatory frameworks in adaptation finance. A panel discussed practical strategies for overcoming regulatory hurdles in adaptation investments, emphasizing collaboration and real-world examples. After a break, two interactive breakout sessions followed. The first focused on aligning finance with EU climate policies, exploring compliance strategies for the EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and CSRD. The second examined the role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in scaling adaptation finance, discussing risk-sharing, profitability, and challenges in PPP structures.
The event concluded with summaries from each breakout group and final remarks, including access to resources and information on future training in spring 2025.
