Italian SMEs and sustainability reporting

Small and medium-sized enterprises are key players in the Italian economiy; they have shown, in recent years, a growing attention to ESG issues. Nonetheless, financial operators often note a limited availability of information relating to the sustainability policies and performance of SMEs. In this context, disclosing accurate and comparable ESG data would benefit both companies and investors.

ItaSIF, in collaboration with ALTIS Università Cattolica, run a research to investigate sustainability reporting practices of Italian SMEs, with related benefits, criticalities and incentives.

The research was carried out with the support of BPER Banca, Generali Investments and Intesa Sanpaolo.

The Italian version of the research is available here.
