Political science graduate; in 1987 elected Secretary General of the European Federalist Youth and moved to Brussels. Worked at the European Parliament’s Green Group (1990-99). MEP from 1999 (Ecolo, then Italian Greens); Co-Chair of the Green Group (2002-09) and the European Green Party (2009-19). Chairs Ixelles City Council from 2020 to 2024. Founded the European Alliance to Save Energy (2011) and has chaired the European Centre for Electoral Support since 2013.
